The 13th Annual Reunion/AGM ‑ October 9th

Chairman's Report

The Chairman, John Hayris, welcomed Mr David Blow. the new Headteacher, together with 64 Members,

Headteacher's Report

especially Miss C. M. Coney, Mrs. J. Taylor (ride Secretan) and Miss D. Keenor, former members of staff,

and three members who had had extra long journeys to join us, Colin "Jim" Hawkins from U.S.A, Turville Kille from Zimbabwe and David Sheppard from South Africa.

Membership Report

The Secretary read out the list of 38 apologies which included six overseas members and Frances Carder, a loyal supporter of many years standing, who was in hospital

following a fall which resulted in a fractured femur. Coffee had been enjoyed prior to the meeting and the Committee was most grateful for the extra help given with

reception and coffee making by Esme Weller and Pauline Brittain. Chairman's Report Having provided a full report for the Autumn Newsletter, John Hayns was able

New Committee

to give a mercifully brief report to the Meeting! He chose to look back over his three year term of

office and list some of the points which had occupied the committee during that time. It was an

impressive list and these are some of the more notable items: The dedication of the Memorial Gates; establishment of the "Doc Morgan Appeal' as a tribute to his efforts to inculcate a love of music in

so many of us, the appeal resulting in the presentation of a purpose made conductor's podium and a

duet piano stool; summer hospitality events; quality of Newsletter and balancing content with costs

of "Children with Leukaernia"; problems of members being unable to hear at the AGM and the

Lunch, now solved with the purchase of a public address system; Arthur Webster's retirement and acceptance of Honorary Membership of ADA; lack of younger members in the Association; School

Awards Evening and presentation of annual Bursary. Sadly there had been insufficient support for any summer social activities during the year under review and to date only one offer of hospitality

has been received for 2005. While thanking all members of the committee for their work over the

past year, the Chairman singled out Sheila Sandford who had not only carried out very efficiently

the onerous duties of Secretary, but also the role of Membership Secretary.
